Cinderflame's tail flicked back and forth as he gazed down at his tribe, who were now ready to rip the pelts off of any wolf they met. An evil smirk twitched his whiskers. Perfect. Once again, his claws grated across the rock, leaving small white lines where their razor-sharp tips had passed. The huge Kavari snarled softly. Those wolves will pay! Especially that red-pelted one, who caused us so much grief last time... His fur bristled and he growled dangerously. Better top outline the battle plan, before his rage overwhelmed him entirely. "We will take back the territory we once ruled!" he snarled, voice carrying out over the camp. The leader's pelt looked like a mass of shadow, shot through with lines of fire. "The Kanarans and the Senya lay claim to it now, but we can defeat them easily. Raid their territories, disrupt their hunting, steal their prey. Kill any wolves you see!" He snarled again, a vicious war cry that hung in the air above the camp. It growled and rumbled like thunder, foreshadowing the storm that was still to come.

That was the answer she expected to hear but not the one she wanted to hear. It wasn't specific but she guessed it gave them more freedom to do whatever they wished. A toothy grin played onto her maw. There was tension and anger in the air. Everyone was ready for battle and bloodshed.

Darkrose nodded as Cinderflame announced his plan. This was going to be fun doing everything possible to ruin the wolves. Then the fur on the back of her neck slightly rose from the feeling of being watched. She glanced back and spotted Shade looking at her. She blinked a few times before looking away again. He probably saw her looking at him earlier. She stared at the ground somewhat embarrassed but soon got over it. Her thoughts then quickly went back to her plan for the wolves that she got ahold of.

Amurheart's blue eyes narrowed, and he bared his teeth. The low growl that he had let out before became more audible. He wasn't usually keen about letting his feelings show, but he deemed this an appropriate time. He nodded his head, showing his leader that he would do everything possible to rid the territory that belonged to them of all wolves. He would do everything he could to ensure the wolves' pain.
Shade looked away quickly when Darkrose looked back at him. He couldn't believe that he'd let her see him looking at her. He shook his head. He glanced back at her, then looked up at Cinderflame. Determination sparked in his golden eyes. He would avenge his parents... or at least think of them as he ripped the wolves to pieces.
Amurheart glanced at his nephew. He felt as if someone had clawed his heart when he saw the determination sparkling in Shade's eyes. It reminded him of Sunspot. She had looked the exact same way countless times.... His expression of determination faded, and he stopped growling, but he hid his pain well. He wondered if anyone would be able to tell that something was wrong, though, because of the abrupt end of his bloodthirsty mood that he had been so eager to express. He flicked his tail uneasily as he watched Shade. He had Sunspot's eyes....

Shukka jumped to his paws and paced, his figure looking like a massive black shadow with eyes of fire. His short tail flicked in impatience, and his thick muscles rippled under his black and red fur. Raising his large head, he opened his jaws and roared upto Cinderflame "When do we start?" His voice was low and vicious as he waited for his answer.
Sorrelkill neaded the ground eagerly as he listened to Cinderflames words. He watched his leader with admiration sparkling in his eyes. One day, he thought, I wasnt to be just as smart and respectful as him. He wanted to dash out into the desert right now, and find his way back to the forest, his rightful home.

Shade waited, fighting to remain patient, for his leader's answer to Shukka's qusestion. Yes, when would they start? The trainee hoped that Cinderflame's answer would be immediately. His young paws had never touched the forest floor, but he hoped that, should they be successful this time, his pads would never again touch the harsh sands and stones of the desert ground. The Kavari would take back their true home -- Shade assured himself that he would do everything in his power to ensure that they did.
Amurheart gave himself a bit of a shake to shed the pain. He tried his best to focus on what was really important: revenge. He needed to hear what directions his leader would give so that he could avenge his fallen sister, as well as all of his dead Clanmates. Still, he dreaded the possiblity that anyone had noticed his change of mood....

"When do we start?"
Cinderflame turned to acknowledge Shukka's question. "Now," he growled, savoring the word. "We've waited long, too long. But the wolves have grown weak, and their territories lie waiting, practically begging to be taken." He lifted his midnight-black head and roared furiously. The sound split the air like a peal of thunder, or the ring of a death knell. The leader snapped his jaws closed and smiled coldly. Let the wolves hear that, and know fear again.

Amurheart refocused his attention to Cinderflame. The tom approved of his leader's answer. He gave a low growl of satisfaction. The large Maotu dipped his head to Cinderflame, then turned, heading for the forest. He'd enjoyed terrorizing the wolves during the Wraith War. He was glad he'd have the chance to do it again. He was already planning what to do. His light blue eyes were fixed on the land ahead of him. The wolves would pay.
Shade bared his teeth in a grin, flexing his claws. The young tom was looking forward to their present task. He watched as his uncle dipped his head to Cinderflame, then turned and started off. He wondered if he should do the same....

Morningsong grinned as Cinderflame declared they could take on the wolves now. She got to her paws and nudged Darkrose trying to get her to get moving. She stopped nudging the younger she-cat and then took off across the sands towards the forest. It had been such a long time since she felt grass under paw.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Darkrose gave a slight nod to Cinderflame before getting nudged to her paws by Morningsong. She glared at the older she-cat. "Calm down." She lightly growled as the she-cat walked away. Her auds perked and she glanced back at Shade noticing he hadn't moved but Amurheart had. She turned her gaze to the leader wondering if he wanted them to go as well.
Shukka's flame colored eyes blazed, and he lifted his head and roared his approval, his voice mingling with CInderflame's. Without another sound, the great cat turned and stalked easily across the sand, muscles rippling under his red and black coat. There was no sense in bolting off across the desert; he would need his energy when he got to the forest. Baring his long saber fangs in anticipation, he turned in the direction of the forest and padded away.
Sorrelkill looked around. He noticed the other trainee, Shade, hadn't moved from where he sat. Bounding over, Sorrelkill flicked his tail excitedly. "Come on!" he said excitedly. "Lets go to the forest!" He was tense and excited. He couldn't wait to see the forest.
Shade was silent for a moment, but a sparkle of mischief soon shone in his golden eyes. He nodded, and started off eagerly. "Let's get our home back," he said quietly, but loud enough for Sorrelkill to hear. He glanced back to see if Darkrose was coming. He had noticed that she hadn't moved, either. He flicked his tail, signaling for her to come, too. He hoped that she had seen, as he averted his gaze so that he looked back at Sorrelkill, and then back at the desert in front of him.
Amurheart's large paws left massive pawprints in the fine sand. The massive Maotu's claws scraped against the sand as he walked. He didn't pick his paws up all the way. When he walked at a leisurely pace, he let his paws drag slightly on the ground. He was in a rather relaxed mood at the moment. He would become more excited when they reached the forest.
Shade felt his paw slip into a bit of dip in the ground as he traveled over the sand with Sorrelkill. He glanced down, and saw that he had stepped into a large pawprint. He looked ahead of him, and saw that his uncle was walking straight ahead of him. The young cat stepped out of his uncle's pawprint. He gave himself a slight shake, feeling a bit awkward. He glanced at Sorrelkill, and continued on.
Darkrose noticed Shade motion to her with his tail. She remained in her place for a second, debating whether to go with them or not. Before she could decide they had already run off in the direction Amurheart had gone. She sighed and ran after them, her paws kicking up sand. She spotted them in the distance and quickly caught up. She came up beside Shade and noticed Amurheart not too far ahead of them. She didn't say a word but she had an anxious sparkle in her eyes.
A feral gleam lit the massive Kavari's eyes as he watched members of the pack hurry out of the camp. Good, they're eager for vengeance. With a ripple of black and orange fur, Cinderflame leaped off the rock. He landed agilely on the burning sands, waving his long tail nonchalantly. His eyes were fixed on the retreating forms of Darkrose, Shade, Amurheart, and Sorrelkill. Should I go with them? Oh, why not? Grinning like he was a cub again, the Kavari leader raced across the dunes. His huge paws ate up the ground rapidly, and soon he was standing near Amurheart. He inclined his head slightly. "May I come with you?"
Amurheart wasn't usually fond of company, but he was smart enough to say "yes" to the Tribe's leader. "Of course," he said, dipping his head respectfully. His voice was low, quiet, and betrayed little emotion, but he made sure to use a respectful tone. The large, tiger-like fighter stared across the dunes, planning his attack. He only cared about one wolf right now. He would find out who killed his sister. He'd seen that it was a gray wolf, with a large red "X" tattooed on its shoulder. He remembered the triumphant look on its hideous face when it killed his beloved sister. The memory was clear as crystal, as if it had just happened. He would find this wolf. He would avenge his sister. His blue eyes betrayed a slight determination, but what they showed was only a fraction of what he felt. He flicked his ear. He'd find the wolf, and terrorize some loners on the way.
Cinderflame nodded again, glad that Amurheart had assented. The Kavari leader could have ordered him to allow Cinderflame to accompany him, but where was the fun in that? The sand crunched under his paws as he sank his claws deep into the ground. Every muscle in his body was tensed, ready for a fight. It was a long walk to the other side of the desert, and it would be night before they could reach the territories of the wolves. But night would increase their chances of slipping in undetected, and most of the wolves would be asleep and unsuspecting...
"Cinderflame.... Are we going to do it the same way? I mean, the random attacks and stuff like we did last time. Or, are we attacking all at once?" Amurheart asked, allowing his voice to express his concern. If they were attacking all at once, how would he find out which wolf killed his sister? He had to know where to find it... and he might need a little bit of time to figure it out.
||Can the Maotu and the wolves talk to eachother? Just because, if any of you have ever read the warriors' series, it's not like the cats and foxes can talk to eachother. Just wondering. I'd kind of come up with a way for Amurheart to find out who killed Sunspot, but that would require his being able to talk to the wolves. So I just wanted to check.||
