Snowfall walked slowly along the shore, watching the tide come in, and pull out slowly. She loved watching the water. The wolf looked at the dusk sky as the sun gradually sank closer to the horizon, painting the sky brilliant colors, such as orange and pink. Snowfall's ears heard howling, further up the beach. Another loner, she thought curiously. Her curiosity turned to thoughts of dread as she realized what this meant. More wolves to avoid. She sighed, her frosty blue eyes expressing the unbearable longing that she felt. The only wolf she ever knew was her mother, but Frostedfur had been so judging, so critical.... Other wolves must be the same way. Besides, no one else should have to see her marred face. The patches of fur left on the left side were seperated by many scars, from the teeth and claws of some rogue Maotu cat, which had been thirsty for the blood of wolves. The cat had slain her mother and left her scarred. Since then, Snowfall had put twice the effort into avoiding other wolves. She doubted any wolf would see the beauty in her that even she once reluctantly recognized. She sighed, watching the direction from which the howling had come. She continued to walk, but she knew that at the sight of any wolf she should turn some other way, so that they didn't have to see what had become of her.
||Wow, she really does have major self-confidence issues....||
She walked slowly, and soon noticed two figures up ahead. She was sure that one of these wolves was the one that had been howling. She flicked her snow-white tail nervously. She wished she could approach them, but she knew that they would just look the other way.... She flicked a purple-tipped ear, wondering if she might be able to catch some of what they said. She shook her head, deciding not to bother. She turned back, looking at the vast shoreline. The white sand stretched as far as she could see. She had reached the beach not far back the way she had just come. She decided she would walk past that place and continue the other way. She became slightly curious, wondering what might lay beyond the place where her paws had already walked.

||OK, I guess I'll just role play with myself for the moment. I have a character to bring in, so I'll do that....||
Snowfall walked for a while, taking in the beautiful scenery of the coast. She noticed an arrangement of large rocks, with many small spaces between them. As she neared the rocks, she noticed that just outside one space, which was larger than the others, there were many empty shells lying about. There were some feathers scattered here and there, as if a bird had been chased by something. She sniffed the shells outside the dark opening. They smelled of clams, and.... The white she-wolf froze as she recognized the scent of wolf. She must be standing just outside of someone else's den. However, she soon realized that the opening was far too small for any adult wolf to fit inside. Suddenly, a pair of large violet eyes became visible from out of the darkness. Snowfall took a step backward, startled by the sudden appearance of these strange eyes.
At that moment, from out of the shadows stepped something small, that seemed to blend with the shadows. Snowfall slowly realized that this was a tiny wolf. She saw the friendliness in the pup's eyes as he stared up at her. He opened his maw, and out of it lolled a pink tongue. The pup wagged his tail happily, grinning at the sight of another wolf.
Snowfall noticed that, as he did this, the tip of his fluffy tail was white. The entire rest of his coat was black.
The she-wolf had turned her head so that all the pup could see of her face was the right side. She didn't want to frighten the young wolf. However, she knew that he'd probably seen her before she saw him. She looked straight at him now, wondering how he might react. She knew that the pup could see her marred face. However, he didn't move. He just stood there, tongue lolling and tail wagging. The two stood for several minutes, unmoving, until, like a revelation, it dawned on her: this pup didn't judge her at all. He didn't know that she didn't look the way she was supposed to. He was completely oblivious to the fact that the left side of her face had been stripped of its previous beauty. The pup then padded over towards her backside, and stopped by the end of her tail. Snowfall turned her head, although she didn't move. She watched him curiously. The pup began to paw at her tail. A small smile formed on the she-wolf's face as he played with her white tail. She began to move it a bit, so that he had to chase it. A playful growl sounded from the little pup's throat. All he wanted to do was play. Snowfall grinned. She'd found a friend.
||By the way, Cloud's picture is up on his bio. ;D||

Snowfall suddenly became curious. This pup appeared to be about three moons old, but he hadn't said anything. She flicked his nose with her tail. He blinked, then looked up at her. "Hey.... Do you have a name?" she asked him. The pup pricked his ears, but said nothing. Snowfall tilted her head slightly. "Can you talk?" The pup's ears twitched, but he still said nothing. He suddenly looked toward the water, and bolted. Snowfall watched him run in surprise. She wondered what he was doing. Was he leaving...? After a few moments of searching the wet sand, the pup returned. He had two shells in his mouth.... He dropped them at Snowfall's paws, and picked one back up. He took a few steps back, then settled down in the sand. As he laid down on his stomach with his paws tucked under him, the she-wolf noticed that he was a bit on the roly-poly side. She twitched her ear. It only made him look more adorable. She watched him as he chewed on the shell. After a few moments, she heard it snap. The pup had seperated the two sides. He dropped it on the sand in front of him. He began eating the meat out of the shell. Snowfall watched him curiously. He couldn't talk, but he was very intelligent. The pup licked the shell clean, and looked up at Snowfall expectantly. The she-wolf decided to try the clam. She picked the shell up in her mouth, and bit down on it. It broke easily. She set it down on the ground, and ate the meat from inside. It tasted strange.... She wasn't that fond of it, but she didn't want to offend the pup. She grinned, and the pup smiled up at her, his violet eyes cheerful. She glanced up at the sky. She wanted to get moving soon. She wondered if her little buddy would want to come with her. She laid down in the sand, and curled up. The pup stood, and padded over to her. He paused for a moment, then curled up next to her. She curled her hindlegs and tail around him. The pup's eyes flickered closed, and he was asleep. Snowfall smiled, and rested her head on her paws. She touched her nose to his muzzle, and watched him as he slept peacefully. I guess I'll be here a little longer than I thought I'd be, she thought contentedly.

Lumi clawed among the beach contentedly, looking at the loud, hovering gulls every once in a while. She was happy in this land, and her lump of a tail was wagging perfusely, faster than any wolf could only because it is much, much smaller than any wolfs' tail.
She had been walking around for a good five minutes untill she reached the shore. A little sooner than expected, she saw a wolf, white in color, wrapped around a pup. She stopped dead, and grinned, though she probly didn't see her.
As calmly as possible, Lumitrus sat a few feet away from the wolf, facing the sea as she was. She looked over and smiled.
"Hi There." She said with a friendly grin.

Snowfall looked up, startled, lifting her head from her forepaws. The pup stirred, although he didn't wake. "Oh.... hello," Snowfall said. She couldn't really hide her scars in this position. She noticed this, worried, as always, that this other wolf might reject her.... She flicked her tail anxiously, hoping that the other loner would disregard the marred left side of her face. She seemed friendly enough. But she couldn't see the scars, she reminded herself silently.
||Major self-confidence issues.||

Lumi looked in the full face of Snowfall, only slightly scarred to her. Lumi had learned to not judge by looks, and soon that had even changed how she veiwed someone.
For the first time since she had sat down, she scented the tiny ebon being by her new friend and smiled. She loved pups and obviously a sleeping one was the definition of cherubic. As any fea would do, she questioned her new friend.
"Is he yours?" She asked, her stump of a tail thump-thump-thumping in the sand. She gazed happily at the 'family'.
Sure-set on the fact that they were a family, she gazed around the beach, half expecting to see a sleeping father. Obviously the last thing on her mind was anyones' appearance.

Snowfall was surprised that the other wolf had not reacted at the sight of her face. She pushed the thought away as the she-wolf questioned her. "Oh, no.... I just found him here a little while ago. I think he was alone," Snowfall said, suddenly wondering. Where was his mother? Why was he here all alone? The white she-wolf's frosty-blue eyes were fixed curiously upon the cute black pup. Where's your mother? she asked silently, wondering why he was here all alone.

"Oh really?" Questioned Lumi, almost unsure that the pup was real for a moment. She smiled at the she-wolf.
"I envy that; How you're taking him under your wing." She got cofortable an layed down. "Thats very great of you." She said, almost lost in the care shown from the female.
Oh yeah.
"Oh, excuse my manners, I'm Lumi." She smiled.

"It's nice to meet you, Lumi. I'm Snowfall." The white wolf looked up at the other fae (that's the word, right?). She hadn't really thought of it that way. She didn't even know if the little pup would want to stay with her. She thought she should take care of him, though, as long as he wanted to stick with her. Even though she had known him for just a little while, she'd grown fond of the pup. She wished she knew what his name was... if he had one. He seemed to be about three moons old.... Why couldn't he talk?

Lumi looked out at the sea as the sun was... (Is it already gone?)... The scene was beautiful and to share it with two new friends was definately something new.
"So what's his name?" Lumi asked, intently looking at the cute little bundle.

||Basically. Only just, though. The sky's still pinkish around the horizon.||
Snowfall followed Lumi's gaze to the horizon, and the sky. The twilight sky was still painted pink from the remaining light of the fallen sun. Above the swath of pinks and reds, the strip of purples, the sky was blue, fading into black. Sunset was Snowfall's favorite time, but she regarded the evening twilight as very beautiful, as well. She listened as Lumi questioned her. The femme (am I getting these words right? I've never used them before) shook her head. "I don't know. I.... I'm not sure that he can speak," she said, looking back at her new friend. "He hasn't said anything, or made any sound, for that matter."

"Oh, is that right?" She looked almost downhearted, feeling sad for the poor, mute dear.
"Do you think he could try and tell you by showing you? Like charades? Like, say his name was leaf, he could grab a leaf? Does he seem to be responding to what you say?" She questioned.
Lumi liked this girl, Snowfall. She is kind and lovely, and gorgeous too. She had a well defined figure built for speed with an amazing tattoo on her haunch Lumi had seen before she lay down. She was rather beautiful.
Lumi started thinking. "Or maybe he doesn't know his name? He seems very young...?"

Snowfall sighed. "I think he can hear, but.... I asked him his name, and if he could speak, but he didn't respond.... I suppose I could try something that doesn't require speaking...." she said. "He seems very intelligent, even if he doesn't know how to speak.... You see all those shells over there?" She pointed her ear in the direction of the shells. "He chewed on them until they broke open, and he ate the meat out of the middle. He brought a shell over to me so that I could do the same thing. From the looks of it, he's been eating clams for a while," she said. "Maybe he figured that out by himself."
The pup's violet eyes flickered open. He blinked, then looked up at Snowfall. His mouth opened into a grin, and his tongue slid from his mouth. Snowfall looked down at him and smiled. The pup looked over at Lumi, the same happy expression on his face.

Lumi listened as Snowfall explained the pups' intelegence. She was about to respond when the little creatures' eyes cracked open and he beamed a joyful expression at Snowfall.
'How darling!' Thought Lumi, along with other thoughts of how cute the little guy was.
He gazed over at her and she smiled again, her tail whapping at the sand.
"Hi!" She said, not having to change her voice much from talking to an adult to a pup.

The pup pricked his ears, signaling that he had heard. He gave what looked like a small nod. That must be his way of saying hi.
Snowfall smiled as she watched him interact with Lumi. She was curious about how he would react, as she had said little to him before.
