Snowfall relaxed as the pup flew out of the water. She collapsed on the sand, relieved that he was okay. She sighed, and rested her head on her paws.
The smaller Kavari nodded as his uncle spoke. He halted, although the larger of the two continued lumbering down the beach. Shade waited until he was entirely behind his uncle, and then made his way over to the fighter's left. He narrowed his golden, leopard-like gaze as he focused on the brown wolf. She was just a bit bigger than him.
The young cat's sleek pelt reflected the moonlight. Its golden color was darkened by the black overlay (which actually appeared somewhat transparent, as it wasn't very dark). Tiger-like stripes marked his face, neck, shoulders, forelegs, and the front half of his back. They then gradually curved and became the leopard-like spots that dotted his haunches, hindlegs, and tail. He was shaped like his uncle, like a tiger, although he was also slightly slimmer, like a leopard -- like his mother.
His mother was the reason he was here. He and his uncle, his mother's brother, were here, trying to find out where it was they could find the wolf that killed his mother.
The massive Maotu quickened his pace. They were nearing the wolves. He hoped to get fairly close before being noticed. Muscle rippled beneath his pale orange pelt. His coat was marked with thin, black, Amur tiger-like stripes. His pelt was tinged with reddish-orange along his spine and on the top of his head. He was a fearsome thing to look upon, with his large paws, long claws, and broad, muscular shoulders. Perhaps his most menacing quality was his pair of sharp, five-inch-long saber-teeth. He hoped that he looked intimidating, as it might give him an avantage if his prey was completely terrified of him. He narrowed his emotionless light blue optics, gazing at the white wolf, who would soon be held under his paws.
Shade's pawsteps fell more frequently as his pace quickened to match that of his uncle. He began to drift more to the left, heading for the wolf that would soon become his opponent in battle. He bared his sharp teeth, his saber-teeth protruding noticibly, as usual.
