Lumi smiled at the little pup as he nodded. Lumi figured that Snowfall would like to talk to him a little bit now, so she kept her mouth shut and kept her eyes on the two.

The pup looked back at Snowfall, his large violet eyes full of energy, as they had been before he fell asleep.
"Did you have a nice nap?" Snowfall asked, wondering if he would understand.
The pup pricked his ears, and gave another small nod-like.... thing. It was barely a nod, but it was something.
"Are you hungry?" she asked. She sort of hoped he would go and get a clam, so that Lumi could see how he had broke it open and everything.
The pup wagged his tail, and after a moment, he stood up, stretched, and sort of bounced down to the water. He pawed at the wet sand for a while. He came back with three shells in his jaws. It was a lot for him to carry in his mouth, but he managed it. He dropped them on the sand in front of Lumi, then picked up two of them, dropped them in front of Snowfall, and picked up one, crouched down about a tail-length away from her (so that he was in a position that he could see both Snowfall and Lumi), and began biting on the shell. It soon cracked, and he set the two halves down on the sand in front of him. He ate the meat from the shell, just as he had done before.
Snowfall watched the pup curiously as he got the clams and brought them back. Okay, so he didn't completely understand, but he got the hungry part right, at least, she thought.

Lumi smiled as the pup nodded in reply to Snowfall, and when asked if he was hungry, he gave no nod, but rushed off the the shore and began digging. Watching in awe, she glanced over at Snowfall, an amazed look on her face.
As he came up, complete a mouthfull of clams, he placed one kindly gefore her, and, truely gratefull, she said a quick thank you to him as he clawed off to Snowfall and shared one with her, aswell. He picked up his own and chewed it, cracking it open with ease.
Lumi waited untill he was done to attempt it. She gnawed on the shell, and to her surprise it was rather easy to crack! She pulled it apart with a claw and, a little weary of the new, whitish meat, she took it up in her teeth and chewed.
It was surprizingly delicious! A special treat for a special day. "That was good!" She exclaimed to both her new friends, giving a nod to the pup, "Thanks again!"

The pup looked up. Lumi's expression and tone made him even happier. His grin grew bigger as she thanked him. His tail gave the sand a good beating as he wagged it cheerily.
Snowfall smiled as she watched the pup and Lumi. She took the clam in front of her in her mouth, bit, set it down, opened it with her paw, and at the meat out. She had thought it tasted strange before, but she realized now that she liked it a bit. It wasn't her favorite thing to eat, but its odd taste was nice, as it was a change from normalcy.

How darling!
Lumi had always wished that pups would never grow up. To stay so young and cute forever would be great! But all the things they could miss, too. Love, being a trainee, deer hunting; et cetera.
Lumi enjoyed being with these two, for a moment, everything was perfect. She sighed happily and took her eyes to the tiny sliver of a moon that was crawling up behind her.

"So, Lumi, where are you from?" Snowfall asked. She usually wandered, but because she spent the first moons of her life in the mixed forest nearby, she would say she was from there. She wondered if Lumi had been born a loner.... She knew that some wolves, like her mother, were born in packs, and banished for breaking the rules. Snowfall didn't really understand it, but she had never been a pack wolf. Her mother raised her, and taught her to reject the ways of the pack (because she was furious at them). The one custom that her mother continued was that of tattooing, which Snowfall had noticed most loners didn't practice. She saw that Lumi had som tattoos on her face....

Lumi was comfortable with talking about her past, maybe a little too comfortable.
"Eh, I used to be with the Kanarans, but, things change." She said, not saying everything, because she was sort of embarrassed by it, but she gave as much as she needed to know. "I've been a loner since that war." She finished.

Snowfall nodded. "My mother was a Senya. But she had a mate in the Kanaran pack, so.... And, she was expecting me when she was a trainee, so it's like, twice as bad," Snowfall said. "So I was born a loner, but I know about the packs." She flicked her white tail casually, thinking about her past... everything that her mother had told her, taught her....

Lumi smiled. She was happy that Snowfall was comfortable telling her story.
Lumi frowned to herself. Snowfall was made a loner all because her mother had her young? Not only was that unfair of the Senya, but it was awful for Snowfall. She could have brought a great fighter to the Senya, maybe not have those scars she did, though Lumi wasn't entirly sure.
But then again, if she was, Lumi would have never met her, that adorable pup would still be wondering. 'Everything happens for a reason - it's part of destiny.' She thought.
Thinking about her past, she remembered chatting with Jillian, the beta. 'She always seemed like such a kind, understanding girl, but how she snarled at me when I returned...' She flinched as she remembered the pain of being tossed down onto the ground by her.
As Lumi walked toward the camp wearily, she took in the familiar scent of the Kanaran. She walked around in the sparse wood and called out for her pack with a worried howl. She continued walking until she hit a clearing where most of the wolves usually were. Now they were all grusomely marred and bloody, most of them dead.
She saw Jillian, no differant than the others in appearance, clawing around tearfully looking at her fallen comerades. Then, she caught sight of her. Lumi was clean un scarred, and Jillian knew what had happened.
Lumi approached her Beta, releaved to see her. "Jillian, you're so bloody!" she exclaimed, placing a delecate paw on Jillians comfortingly. But Jillian was furious. She snarled at Lumi and snapped at her, send her backing away from where she came. "Uh, Jillian, What is it?" She asked, backing away as she snarled at her.
"You know what you did!" Jillian growled, her tail lashing furiously. "You left us for dead in the heat of battle! And you still expect me to care about you?" In one vicious movement, Jillian pounced on Lumi before she could speak. Lumi never realized how stong she was. As she hit the ground, she wimpered in surprise.
Jillian looked like she was about to bite her, but she continued yelling. "How dare you return!" She bellowed, glaring at her with such a hateful passion. The rest was history.
She snapped back to reality, and looked back to Snowfall. She had kind of forgotton exactly what she said, but she answered anyways.
"I see."

Snowfall nodded, unaware of Lumi's thoughts, of the memories running through her friend's head. She nodded, and gave a small chuckle. "We're probably the only two loners with tattoos. I've never seen another loner with such markings...." she said. Suddenly, a thought popped into her head. "Do you know of any other wolves banished from your pack?" she inquired, once again thinking of her father. Was he banished, as well? According to her mother, he had already become a fighter. Her mother should have been a fighter, but her ceremony, or whatever it was, had been put off. Snowfall knew that her mother had always been one to misbehave, and that her tendency to break the rules was why she wasn't made a fighter on time. Her mother was never the patient type, either. That was why Snowfall was where she was. She didn't mind, though. She couldn't imagine living with a lot of other wolves. She didn't like being completely alone; despite the fact that her mother had never expressed much love for her, Snowfall missed her company. Her mother had always been tough on her, but there were moments when the two were like best friends. Although, that might have had to do with the fact that they knew no other wolves. Regardless, the two could be friendly at times. Snowfall prefferred to have her critical mother's company than none at all. Now, she had the company of this little pup, and, for a little while at the least, that of her new friend Lumi.

Lumi smiled. She had almost forgotton about her tattoo. She remembered the day she got it. She was so proud.
"Yeah, probobly." She said.
"Do you know of any other wolves banished from your pack?" Snowfall asked. Lumi took a second to think. She had only met one other loner so far, Saber, and he was from a rogue pack. Other than him, she had no idea.
"No, Sorry." She replied, "I'm the only exile I know of."
Exile.
Just the word reminded her of Jillian's weight crushing down on her.

Snowfall nodded.
"It's okay. Maybe they never found out about my father taking a mate from another pack," she said, hiding her disappointment.
The pup had gone off to splash in the waves. The sky was darkening, and the tide was coming in. Snowfall glanced over at the little male, just in time to see a small wave splash him as he jumped into the air. He only made it up a couple of feet, but the water only splashed his legs and belly. He looked like he was having fun.

Lumi smiled as she looked over at the pup.
"It's okay. Maybe they never found out about my father taking a mate from another pack,"
Oooh. Lumi was a little confused on why she would care, but now she knew. Looking over to the pup again, she laughed whole-heartedly as she saw him leap out of the waves' way.

Snowfall watched him. He had heard Lumi's laugh, and knew he was being watched. He turned around to face the she-wolves, and a broad grin spread across his little face. However, he wasn't paying attention to the waves behind him. Just a moment after he'd turned around, a wave washed over him, and he could not be seen for several seconds. Snowfal. jumped to her paws, but as soon as she did, his jet-black head popped out of the water. His fur covered his eyes, and he was drenched, but that grin was still on his face. The pup dashed out of the water, and hopped about a foot. He sent sand flying all over the place as his paws hit the ground. He shook himself, sending water flying into the air. His violet eyes opened, as they were now visible and free of water.
Snowfall gave a huge sigh of relief as the pup's head emerged from the waves, and was even more relieved to see that he was still his carefree self.
A massive shape stepped silently on the sand behind the wolves. Amongst the largest of the Kavari, this Maotu felt quite big compared to his prey. His light blue optics were fixed on the she-wolves ahead. They were the first he'd seen so far, and, despite the fact that he knew it was unlikely, he hoped that they might know something of one he hunted....
He lifted his massive paws only a few inches off the sand before setting them down. He allowed his long claws to leave marks as he dragged them across the beach. He liked the feel of this sand -- it was cool and damp under his pads, unlike the rough, dry, hot sands of the desert.
A smaller figure lumbered behind the large one. The trainee had been amazed by the beauty of the forest, the vastness of the ocean, and everything that they'd seen since they left the desert behind. He now knew why his tribemates wanted so badly to take back the home that they never knew, the place that was home to their ancestors, little more than a decade ago.
Not only was he behind his uncle, but he was also slightly to the right of him. He walked in the sand touched by the dying waves of the ocean, sand that was wetter than the sand that the larger, tiger-like cat walked on. As the young Maotu lifted his paws, he felt the sand pull, as if it wanted him to stay there in that spot, to let his pads feel the cool temperature and soothing dampness of the sand. It amazed him how different it was than the sand of the desert. He liked this place better.
He saw their prey ahead: a white wolf with purple-tipped ears, and a purple star on her upper hind leg. He couldn't see her face. The other wolf was a mix of browns. Her tail was short, a mere stump, unlike the other's.
"You take that brown one, I'll take the white one," the larger of the two said, just loud enough for his nephew to hear, but not enough for the wolves.

Lumi was frozen as the pup was plunged underwater. It had happened frame by frame, the wave crashing, him dunking, and Snowfall stancing. She layed though, tence and frozen as she had in so many other situations. Her eyes were wide with fear, but then he emerged, smiling as usual. She leaped onto the shore, sending water and sand flying straight for the two of them. Lumi thingyed her head back and shut here eyes, as if it would keep her dry and wet.
The sea's spray made it impossible to scent the cats. She smiled at the pup, sprayed with water and sand.
