*This Bio is for reference, because Crimzyn is mentioned so much, and is a very important part of Aero's history.*
Name: Crimzyn
Pack/Tribe: Kanaran
Age: Same as Flaer and Aero
Gender: Female
Rank: Trainee
Picture:
Description: Crimzyn is a slender, fit she-wolf. She's average in size for the Kanaran pack. Her fur is light gray. She's pretty plain. Her most outstanding features are her eyes -- they're crimson red. You might expect this to make her look mean, or evil. However, there is nothing mean or evil about her eyes. They express all of her kindness and peacefulness, all the time. She's quite the opposite of evil-looking.
Tattoos/Special Markings: None. She disappeared as a trainee, so she never got her tattoos.
Personality: Crimzyn has to be the most kind, unjudgemental, peaceful wolf in the forest. She accepts everyone, even the Maotu cats, and embraces their differences rather than criticizes them. She believes that everyone is different for a reason. How boring would the world be if everyone was the same? Very, in her opinion.
Crimzyn completely rejects the idea of solving problems with violence. She believes that talking about it calmly and comprimising is the best way to solve any problems, whether it be a petty disagreement between packmates, or a territory dispute.
History: Crimzyn was born in the Kanaran pack. She had a pretty normal puphood with her sister.
Crimzyn worked hard to learn hunting as a trainee. She didn't take fighting as seriously, though. She hoped that she would never have to use her fighting skills. The only reason she really made an effort to learn them was just in case she had to use them for self-defense.
One day, while she was walking through the forest, Crimzyn came across Aero, the smallest trainee in the pack.
"Hey, Aero. What's wrong?" Crimzyn asked as she approached her denmate. He was sitting at the base of a small tree, sniffling. His eyes were wet.
"Don't tell me you've come to make fun of me because I'm a runt, too," he said, looking away.
"What? Of course not!" Crimzyn said, offended. However, her voice was gentle. "Why would I do that?"
"That's what all of the other trainees do," he said. "I'll never be a great fighter. I'm too small."
"That's nonsense, Aero. Just because you're small doesn't mean the other trainees are better than you. There's plenty of great things about you."
"Yeah? Like what?" Aero asked, still sniffling.
"Well, you might be small, but you're the fastest in the pack! You came really close to catching that deer yesterday, all by yourself!"
"Yeah, but I didn't catch it. I missed it. It got away," the white male argued.
"Yes, but you almost caught it. None of those guys have ever come close to catching a deer all by themselves. In a moon or two, you'll be able to catch deer all on your own, and they'll need help from others to do it," Crimzyn pointed out.
"Yeah... but I'll still never be a great fighter. I'm not strong," he said.
"Aero, you are strong. You might not be as muscular as the others, and maybe you wouldn't do so well if one of them had you pinned to the ground, but you're too fast for them to do that! It doesn't take loads of physical strength to be a good fighter. I think you need to figure out your own way to fight, because you're not built the same way as the rest of the pack."
"How am I supposed to do that?" Aero asked. He had stopped sniffling. He rubbed his paw to his eyes to dry them.
"Well, some wolf had to come up with a way to fight, right? You can do that, too. Aero, you're smart, and you know yourself and how your body works. You know how fast you can run, how high you can jump, how sharp your claws are. All you have to do is come up with a way to use your skills in a way that suits you, and that works.
"Well, say one of those big trainees charged at you. What would you do?"
"Well, I'd... I'd move out of the way," Aero said.
"Right, because you're faster than him. Then what would you do?"
The two discussed these scenarios for the rest of the afternoon. Aero began to understand what Crimzyn meant, and he realized that he could fight differently than the rest of the pack. He could become a great fighter, in his own way.
That day, Crimzyn and Aero really became friends. Aero came to Crimzyn with his problems often, and she would help him solve them. He became more and more confident as the days went by. The two would take walks in the forest together, and just talk about anything and everything. As they got older, they started to realize how they felt for each other. They would spend nights together by the river. They'd stay up half the night and talk.
"You know, I heard someone say something about 'destiny' and 'fate' earlier. I think it was one of the older wolves.... Do you think everything that happens is supposed to?"
"I don't know. Maybe...." Aero had said.
"I mean, there could be something bigger out there, right? Something.... I don't know. Like, controlling everything. I mean, it's hard to believe that all of this was here already. Everything has to start somewhere. I mean, it might not end, but it has to start somewhere. And, its hard to believe that all this was just here already, and time just started. Something had to make all this."
The conversation would eventually slow, and at some point, during the still silence, one of them would fall asleep, soon followed by the other. It had to be the most innocent relationship the pack had ever seen, and yet there was no doubt that it would continue into their adulthood. They'd be together forever, everyone was sure of it.
Sometimes, while they were at the river, Crimzyn would teach Aero to fish. She was pretty good at it, but Aero had never really learned. He was better at hunting dear. One time, Aero fell face first into the river. Crimzyn grabbed him not a moment after he hit the water, and pulled him to safety (he was smaller than her), but they stopped fishing after that.
"Hey, Aero, look at that butterfly over there," Crimzyn said quietly, touching his paw with hers.
Aero's aqua-green gaze followed her crimson one, and fell upon a butterfly. It was beautiful -- its wings were crimson, with silver lines crossing them.
"It's pretty," Aero said quietly. He looked at Crimzyn. Their gazes met. "Its wings are the same color as your eyes."
Crimzyn smiled. "Look what it's sitting on," she said.
Aero looked back at the butterfly, and saw that it was perched atop a white flower. The flower had a golden center.
"The crimson butterfly and the white flower...." Aero said quietly, wondering what Crimzyn was trying to say. Was she using symbolism again? She seemed to do that frequently.
"That's us," she said looking back at him.
Aero understood. The butterfly was Crimzyn, because its wings were red, and the flower was him because its petals were white.
Unfortunately, the two trainees' happiness came to an end.
"About... twelve seasons ago, the Kavari attacked. They kept doing all these surprise attacks on us, stealing prey and attacking wolves.... One day, the two of us were out hunting together. She ran off after a deer, thinking that she'd be able to run fast enough to catch it by herself. I'd been hunting a rabbit. I waited a few minutes after catching it to see if she'd come back, because I figured she couldn't catch the deer. Most of my packmates aren't fast enough to catch a deer by themselves," he explained. "I must be the smallest fighter in the pack. Apparently I'm built more like the Senya... which is weird, 'cause I'm Kanaran....
"Anyway.... After those few minutes, she still hadn't come back. So, I followed her scent. It led me to... to a small clearing. I saw blood on the ground. It was the end of the scent trail. But... there was another scent there, a strange, musty scent. I searched for a while, but found nothing. I went back to camp and told the Pack, and some fighters came. They said it smelled like the Wraiths -- that's what we called the Kavari before we found out what they were. She disappeared... there was no body, but we assumed that it... that it... killed her. There's been no sign of her since." (-Aero, to Asagi; Missing Love, Asagi's Song, Page 1, Reply #13)
