After the announcement Zephos was in no mood to stay down there with his pack. The omunous battle loomed, and all his wolves, but Cora, ofcourse, were on edge and weary. But he couldn't have let them go unaware! That would be worse than telling them. He shuttered. He knew it was bad to just walk away from them, but he had to get away from the whole thing.
He wised he could just float away into the clouds. Sitting on a rock overlooking the waterfall, he watched his pack bustle. The wind blew his fur infront of him, casting a dramatic haze of his body as he loomed above his pack.

Lucie sat up and walked slowly toawrd the dens, mostly ignoring the hustle and bustle of camp. She really wanted to talk to Zephos, mostly because he listened to her, kinda. He seemed really nice and had very good leadership skills. She started walking up the slope, stopped, and started thinking about if he wanted to talk to her, or if he wanted to be left alone...

Zephos sighed. The forest was beautiful, and as the sun was slowly falling in the sky, he couldn't help but long to be so carefree and predictably comforting as the sunset. Every night it was the same. No matter how your day was, it would be there to guide and comfort you. Zephos had always questioned a higher spirit, something that controlled it all, though he never placed his beleif in that alone. He knew that the world was as it was, and surely nothing is planned out definatly.
In his calm trance, he had failed to notice the she-wolf approaching. He looked to her. Life was so glorious, yet so frail and finite to a point where one day living was a privelige. He knew lives would be lost, and the very knowledge of that made him feel guilty. He wanted so badly to sweep he pack up into the sky, where they could live in silent peace, yet he was unable.
He looked away from Lucie. He didn't mind her company, though he didn't plan on talking with her much.

Sowly approaching, Lucie looked up at Zephos, a bit worried he wouldn't want her presence. She stepped over a few stones untill she was standing almost next to him. Staring at her paws, she attempted to start a conversation, and try not to sound so...shy.
"The sun is beautiful. Beaming over the trees as it falls silently under us..." Her eyes glistened as she looked up at Zephos.

Zephos took his eyes off the sight for a moment, long enough to stare back at her. So she say the beauty and comfort he did too? He shooed away feelings of doubting her for a moment and nodded.
"It's so predictable. No matter what has happened during the day-" he added lightly to himself: 'How much blood had been shed;' "- It always remains there." He said. It was true he was loosing his calm, peaceful attitude, and the looming war was ebbing his confidence.

Lucie looked at the warming sun. The pale orange colors seemed to send her away, back to her puphood. "My mother used to say, 'As long as the sun sets everynight, casting a warm glow upon all the lands, everything will be all right'." This time she didn't look at Zephos. Her voice was sqeaky, and sort of hard to understand. She was remebering her mother and al the helpful stories she used to tell her. If only she was there now...

Everything would be alright? Pssh. Nothing would ever be alright. Not as long as those cats lived anywhere near the wolves. How could anything be so vile?
Right now, all he wanted to do was lay down and think. Just think and remember his past. He plopped down, dust fraying from his fall. He layed his head down on his paws and looked down.
"Just, sometimes, I wonder, what if you don't see the sun? Ever again?"

Lucie watched him fall where he stood.
"Just, sometimes, I wonder, what if you don't see the sun? Ever again?"
Lucie chuckled. "You'll always see the sun!" She smiled. Her voice was very soft today, like she was older. She seemed more mature today tha any other day. Maybe it was because how comfortable she felt around Zephos, even though she only had a real conversation once earlier that day.

Zephos looked up at her. His eyes held a lot of pain and worry. His past shone in them brightly, and his thoughts faded. The comity between wolf and cat would never be restored. He appreciated Lucie's assuagement, but it didn't seem to help him much. He dragged his eyes off her and stared out at the sky, the sun falling hastingly on the horizon.
"Not always." He said. She didn't seem to get what he was saying.

Lucie held her gaze on Zephos.
"Not always."
"You will if you want to." She replied calmly. It really was all in the way you looked at things. Lucie knew he was troubled with te upccoming battle, so she thought best not to bring it up.

She made the most scence of all the wolves he knew. She was exactly right. If he moped and acted like he was already dead, he would die. But if he knew, if he told himself he was going to be victorious, his whole pack would be, they would. He had been so dreary about the announcement, but now, he realized he was settling the same feelings on them. Be optomistic.
He looked away from the falls and back at Lucie, giving her a guenuine smile. She had probably saved his life, possibly his whole pack's. He didn't feel like talking just then. He just wanted to... Zephos hadn't thought of taking precaution. Thinking about it, he needed to send out a patrol. He would join, but his shoulder was getting stiff. Also, he would set up a gaurd up here. The cats liked to use the cloak of night as an advantage, so he needed to get that set up before dusk.
He let his mind wander around. He had noticed his trainees with a bird of prey. Odd, for wolves to eat that sort of thing, but he imagined the precision pounce that must have been used. But more curious than that, he noticed Trinity was getting plumper, and he was relatively sure the rest of the pack did too. He refused to jump to the obvious. Perhaps, tomarrow morning, he could meet with her, maybe take her for a hunt and discuss it.
He decided not to dwell on it. He gave lucie a side glance, and caught himself before he turned his head completely, to gaze up at her. He had never noticed how wirey and sleek she was. Even her paws shown dainty muscles in them. He stopped staring. He managed to tear his gaze away to the flowing river, hoping she hadn't noticed.

Lucie watched as Zephos glanced from her, to the river, back to her, and back to the river again. He smiled at her, so she politly returned his smile. Now that she thought about it, Zephos was pretty funny. She didn't really have a reason, he just was... She giggled softly to herself and smiled. She loved the Senya.
It wasn't long before she stretched her front legs and yawned, unsheathing her sharp claws and sheathing them back up when she was finished. She casually glanced at Zephos. "How's your shoulder?"

Zephos tried to sit up normally, but his limp was evident. He bottled his pain well, and sat by her looking our at his beautiful lands. Looking to her when she questioned him, he smiled, hiding anything with ease. "It's fine." he lied, careful not to worry her. He was still kind of freaked about what she did earlier.

Lucie looked at him and frowned. "Your not fine, so don't hide it!" She felt kind of bossy saying this, because she was a little angry for him not admitting, but she did get annoying when it came to being in pain. She lightened her face and laughed. She needed to learn to laugh a bit instead of act like a hermit.

Zephos looked away from her and rolled his eyes. He was getting annoyed with her just when he was beginning to like her. He stared off away from her, the wind blowing a curtain of ebon hair in front of his face.
